Gardaí are urging motorists to ensure loads are correctly mounted and secured, following an incident in the North Tipperary/Kilkenny area yesterday evening (Saturday, September 19th).

Garda Síochána Kilkenny/Carlow has this afternoon (Sunday, September 20th) shared a video on social media showing a number of round bales falling off the trailer being towed by a tractor.

“The following video shows the importance of using straps to tie down loads.” a Garda spokesperson explained.

“As can be seen, only one strap is been used here going lengthways and the driver is travelling way too fast for the road surface.”

“This is a busy period for farms and other businesses, please ensure all loads are properly secured.” the Garda spokesperson concluded.
