Report: Prices to €2,300 in ‘flying’ trade in Tuam – Devane

Tuam Mart – Cattle Prices – 03-04-2023

According to Marion Devane, a “flying” trade prevailed at Tuam Mart’s general cattle sale on Monday, April 3rd, 2023.

The mart manager reported that cull cows reached €2,300, while heifers topped out at €1,860 and bullocks soared to €2,010.

Heifer prices:

  • 325 kg SIX by a Turloughmore farmer made €1090 (€3.35/kg);
  • A pair 455 kg CHX by a Turloughmore farmer made €1390 (€3.05/kg);
  • 475 kg LMX by a Glenamaddy farmer made €1440 (€3.03/kg);
  • 515 kg CHX by a Milltown farmer made €1570 (€3.05/kg);
  • A pair 537 kg LMX by a Irishtown farmer made €1690 (€3.15/kg);
  • 565 kg CHX by a Milltown farmer made €1750 (€3.10/kg);
  • 575 kg LMX by a Kilmurray farmer made €1860 (€3.23/kg);
  • 580 kg LMX by a Dunmore farmer made €1800 (€3.10/kg).

Bullock prices:

  • A pair 355 kg LMX by a Caherlistrane farmer made €1330 (€3.75/kg);
  • 365 kg CHX by a Cloghanshill farmer made €1440 (€3.95/kg);
  • 375 kg CHX by a Cloghanshill farmer made €1440 (€3.84/kg);
  • Three 418 KEX by a Mountbellew farmer made €1300 (€3.11/kg);
  • 435 kg BBX by a Gortbeg farmer made €1450 (€3.33/kg);
  • A pair 467 kg LMX by a Belclare farmer made €1510 (€3.23/kg);
  • 485 kg LMX by a Moylough farmer made €1560 (€3.22/kg);
  • 490 kg CHX by a Brierfield farmer made €1580 (€3.22/kg);
  • 520 kg LMX by a Barnaderg farmer made €1560 (€3.22/kg);
