Kilkenny: All categories breach €2,000 barrier in ‘steady’ trade

Kilkenny Mart – Cattle Prices – 28-07-2022

According to George Candler, just under 700 lots came under the hammer at Kilkenny Mart’s cattle sale on Thursday, July 28^th, 2022.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that a larger entry than the previous week met with a “steady” trade.

He explained that cull cows attracted a top call of €2,380, while bulls sold to €2,500, bullocks topped out at €2,040, and heifers soared to €2,280.

• Friesians – €1.30-€2.40/kg;
• Continental cull cows – €1.70-€2.90/kg.

Beef heifers – €2.28-€2.90/kg or €1,450-€2,110/head:

• LM – 770kgs – €1,910;
• 2 CH – 740kgs – €2,110;
• 2 CH – 605kgs – €1,700;
• 2 HE – 600kgs – €1,510;
• 2 CH – 595kgs – €1,700.
