Valtra has recently launched a new G series tractor that could prove to be a real competitor in the small-midsized tractor range.
The new G series has been designed to provide the farmer with the “right-sized” tractor in what is a demanding 100-140HP tractor market.
Valtra already has two tractors that fit into the similar market of the G, with A series covering 70-130HP and the N series reaching from 115-201HP.
But, Valtra insist that this tractor is one of their most innovative yet, combining both compact and dynamic nature of the A series along with powerful traits of the N series.
Compact
One of the main features of the Valtra G series is the four-cylinder 4.4-litre AGCO Power engine, which is a reliable and compact engine.
The Valtra G series measures at just over 4 meters long and this compact size provides the G series with a dynamic driving experience which would be suited to farmers with narrow gateways and tight farmyards. It is also hailed as the ‘Loader Master’ due to its power, practical size and visibility.
Along with smaller nose-shaped bonnet which adds to the large visibility from the cab seat, the Cab itself is spacious and modern in design with all the Valtra mods and cons, such as the SmartTouch armrest which features in some the larger Valtra models.
The SmartTouch controls only add to this tractor already capable precision farming capabilities and allows this tractor to standout from its competitors.
Models and specs
The G series comes in three different models: HiTech, Active, and Versus. Each of these basic models can be upgraded with packages which include: Comfort, Technology and Technology Pro.
The packages include different specs such as the comfort which includes suspension features, while both technology specs include varying levels of assist features. The Technology Pro is the most complete package available for the Valtra G series.
Driving and hydraulics features
The G series is equipped with a 24+24R transmission, which allows for a smooth shift between the four transmission settings, and making the driving experience better on the roads.
The G series HiTech models have an open hydraulics system, producing 100Ltrs per minute, while Active and Versu models contain load-sensing hydraulics that allow for 110 litres per minute.
Speaking about the release of Valtra’s new tractor series, Mikko Lehikoinen, Valtra vice-president, said: “The G Series is typically an all-purpose farm tractor that can be used for front-loader tasks, spraying, producing feed and cultivating vegetables using smart farming techniques, for example.”
“Operating an all-purpose tractor like this should be easy and safe with comfortable working conditions, a powerful front linkage and hydraulics, and excellent visibility. Altogether, the G Series is compact but still powerful.”
