Increase in new tractor registrations continues

Tractor registrations for the month of August witnessed a 6% increase in comparison to the same period in 2019.

That is according to data released by the Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA).

14 new tractors were registered during August, which represents an increase from 108 units during the same month in 2019.

This brings the total number of new units registered for the year-to-date (excluding September) to 1,626 – a drop of 8% on last year’s levels.

Cork remains the county with the highest level of registrations at 225 units, followed by Tipperary at 116 and Wexford at 110.

Meanwhile, Monaghan and Leitrim have the lowest levels of registrations with 12 and 13 units in the respective counties.
