Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning and two separate wind alerts.

A status yellow rainfall warning will come into effect in Galway and Mayo at 9pm tomorrow (Friday, October 2nd) and will expire at 9am on Saturday.

“Rain on Friday evening through to Saturday morning will lead to accumulations of 20 – 40mm, with higher accumulations in mountainous areas.”

“This will bring a risk of localised flooding and heightened risk of flash flooding in mountainous areas.”

Wind warnings

Meanwhile, Galway, Donegal, Clare, Kerry, and Mayo are being placed under a status yellow wind warning from 10pm on Friday until 7am on Saturday.

“South to southwest winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h. Winds speeds may be higher in coastal and exposed areas.”

Meanwhile, a status yellow wind warning has been issued for Wexford, Waterford, and Cork with effect from 00:01 on Saturday until 11:00.
