VIDEO: Limousin-cross heifer sells for €9.69/kg

Leading the charge at €3,200 at Roscommon Mart’s weanling show and sale yesterday (Tuesday, November 10th), was a Limousin-cross heifer.

The 330kg entry, the property of Declan Miley, rose to €9.69/kg, following a flurry of bids.

The weanling heifer, which was placed first in her class, garnered remarkable pre-sale interest on social media.

‘The best commercial calf we ever bred’

Ahead of the sale, Miley described her as “easily the best commercial calf we ever bred”.

“Her mother is our best cow having already bred a 280kg heifer calf to €2,520. This is a super show calf with the breeding behind her,” he said.
