Up to 50mm of rain expected

Met Éireann has issued two separate status yellow rainfall warnings.

The first came into effect in Munster, Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, and Donegal at 8 am this morning (Monday, October 19th) and will remain in place until 3 pm tomorrow (Tuesday, October 20th).

“Heavy rain at times Monday and Tuesday with a risk of flooding. Rainfall totals of around 30-50mm expected, possibly higher in mountainous areas.”

Leinster

Meanwhile, the entire province of Leinster is being placed under a status yellow rainfall warning from 11 am this morning until 3 pm tomorrow.

“Heavy rain at times Monday and Tuesday with a risk of local flooding. Rainfall totals of around 20-30mm expected, possibly higher in mountainous areas.” the national forecaster warned.
