“Good” numbers of stock turned out for Castlerea Mart’s online-only sale under Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions, according to Brendan Egan.
Store heifers met with a “lively” trade at the sale held on Thursday, October 22nd.
Speaking following the sale, the mart manager said: “Dry cows, breeding stock and runners reported good clearances also. In the weanling bull ring, stronger bull weanlings were a tougher sell this week with plainer type bulls harder sold also.”
“Weanling heifers peaked at €3.24/kg, but online buyers were more selective this week,” Egan concluded.
