Strong trade for a smaller entry at Kilkenny Mart

Trade for sheep remained strong at Kilkenny Mart on Monday, November 23rd, according to George Candler.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that trade has been aided by a smaller entry. He noted that cull ewes reached €134/head, while lambs peaked at €129/head.

Butcher lambs – €2.23-€2.46/kg or €123-€129/head:
  • X13 57kgs – €127;
  • X24 56kg – €127;
  • X10 54kgs – €137;
  • X8 51kgs – 125.
Factory lambs – €2.40-€2.52/kg or €105-€121/head:
  • X10 48kgs – €121;
  • X8 46kgs – €114;
  • X10 47kgs – €118;
  • X11 44kgs – €106;
  • X25 43kgs – €105.
Store lambs – €2.45-€2.56/kg or €75-€101/head:
  • X23 40kgs – €101;
  • X19 37kgs – €94;
  • X10 36kgs – €89;
  • X16 34kgs – €87;
  • X10 32kg – €80;
  • X8 30kgs – €76.
Other categories:
  • Cast ewes – €60-€134/head.
