A good entry of stock went under the hammer at Castlerea Mart’s online-only sale on Thursday (October 29th).
Mart manager, Brendan Egan, said: “The heifer trade has held up well. This is despite the recent inclement weather conditions with all lots well bid for, aided by northern demand.”
“The weanling trade, with reduced numbers on offer, noticed better demand for better-quality calves as farmers adopted to the new selling system. The dry cow trade, breeding stock and runners reported good clearances also.”
