Man dies after falling from horse and cart

A man, aged in his 50s, has died after falling from a horse and cart.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 21st) at Portroe, County Tipperary.

In a statement to That’s Farming, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred at approximately 1:30 pm on Wednesday, 21st October 2020, at Portroe, County Tipperary, where a man suffered fatal injuries after falling from a horse and cart.”

Young male uninjured

“The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant of the cart, a male youth in his late teens, was uninjured.”

“The road was closed for a time for technical examination but has since reopened to the public. Investigations are ongoing.” the Garda spokesperson concluded.
