Farmer dies after being struck by vehicle at mart

A farmer has died from injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle at a mart in North Yorkshire.

The incident occurred at Ruswarp Mart on Wednesday, October 7th.

According to auctioneer, Robert Smith, he was injured by a haulier’s vehicle exiting the mart’s loading bays.

North Yorkshire Police attended the scene of the incident. The farmer was airlifted to hospital by Yorkshire Air Ambulance, where he has since died following surgery.

The Healthy and Safety Authority is investigating the incident.
