It is with a heavy heart that That’s Farming announces the sudden death of our esteemed Eugene Dalton, Claremorris, County Mayo (also the founder of Corrib Oil).

As a mark of respect for the Dalton family, we will close our office and refrain from publishing content for a brief period.

‘A larger than life character’

Catherina Cunnane, editor and general manager of That’s Farming, said: “Eugene was a larger than life character and true gentleman; a highly respected, intelligent, honest, reliable, outgoing, kind-natured and witty, storyteller, friend and advisor like no other.”

“I have had the pleasure of becoming to know him on a personal level over recent years through That’s Farming when I joined the digital media company during its start-up phase in 2015. He has been a key driver of its success and his spirit will forever be the foundation of the business.”

“Eugene, also the founder of Corrib Oil, which now supports over 650 jobs throughout Ireland, leaves a lasting legacy as one of Mayo’s most successful business people and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May his gentle soul R.I.P.,” she added.
