Covid-19 level 5: How livestock marts will operate

Mart sales will move to online-only under level 5 restrictions, the Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine has confirmed tonight (Monday, October 19th).

In a brief tweet, Minister Charlie McConalogue outlined arrangements for marts as the state moves to level 5 for six weeks with effect from midnight on Wednesday.

“Arrangement for livestock marts in level 5: sales will move to online-only; sellers to drop animals off, buyers can be facilitated to inspect stock in pens by appointment, but bidding process is online only.” the tweet reads.
