€240,000 2-bed property is ‘ideal’ starter home

REA Murphy’s new-to-the-market Gate Lodge, Manor Kilbride, Co Wicklow, offers what the property firm says is “a rare opportunity to purchase an authentic relic from past years”.

The firm is seeking €240,000 for the property in Manor Kilbride Village, Blessington.

It believes this is an “ideal starter home with an original 1920s structure that is very much intact and is very liveable as it”.

The original two-bed residence is modernised with two extensions delivering an entrance hall, a kitchen, a bathroom, two living rooms, two bedrooms and a garage.

Services include a mains water connection, electricity and private sewerage.

The agent commented: “Boasting the original quarry tiles and original granite flagstones to the flooring and a fantastic example of hand cut blue-bangor roofing slates, the original property from the 1820s is very much intact.”

“The obvious historical link between the property and the locality is very much confirmed when the property became the first post office in Manor Kilbride in 1849.”

“With live electricity, the property is completely liveable and offers an opportunity for a gradual refurbishment if desired.”

The garden is small but sufficient for the house size, with a real bonus of being close to Manor Kilbride village, the agent added.

“The Gate Lodge is an ideal starter home, a very appealing project for refurbishment. It will also suit any party who is downsizing and wishes to stay in the general location.”

Location: Wicklow property

Manor Kilbride Village is an “idyllic” setting – a residential hamlet in North County Wicklow, with a  primary school and a local shop, located on the edge of the Blessington Lakes.

The agent says that it is “very” accessible to the main employment centres of Dublin City and North Kildare.
