Post-auction report: A ‘two-horse race’ for €830k 46ac residential farm

Meanwhile, a circa 46-acre residential farm in Co Carlow exceeded its price guide by over €270,000 when it came under the hammer earlier this week.

Jordan Auctioneers guided the holding at Knockdromagh, Myshall at €12,000/acre or €552,000 for the entire ahead of the public auction.

As featured by That’s Farming in recent weeks, Paddy Jordan of Jordan Town and Country Estate Agents, Newbridge, suggested that the property is “ideally suitable for a dairy enterprise or bloodstock”.

The property is near Garryhill and is convenient to Bagenalstown, Fenagh and Borris.

It comprises a compact residence (in need of “substantial” upgrade) and yard, with two three-span hay sheds, a four-span hayshed with a lean-to and five boxes, barn with five boxes, cattle pen and crush.

He described the land, in grass, as “top quality with no waste’”. The land is in six divisions with “excellent” shelter and piped water.

He auctioned the property at 3 pm on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, before a crowd of approximately 20 people.

“Bidding was a two-horse race from the outset to the very end,” the selling agent told That’s Farming.
