Beef prices have risen this week, with plants paying 5-10c/kg above quotes.
The base price for steers currently stands at €3.60-€3.65/kg, while between €3.70-€3.75/kg is reportedly available for heifers.
€2.80/kg is being paid for P grade cull cows this week, with €3.00/kg for O grades and €3.20/kg on the table for R grades.
In terms of young bulls, €3.60-€3.70/kg is being quoted in a limited number of plants for R and U grades.

The national beef kill for the week commencing June 29th stood at 37,153 head (includes 56 calves), according to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s database.
