Weather: Will slurry spreading be on the cards this week?

This morning will be frosty at first but will clear as the morning progresses, giving way to a mostly dry day with a mix of sunshine and clouds, according to Met Éireann. A few isolated light showers will occur, mainly in the north and northwest and along the east coast. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 Celsius, in light to moderate northerly breezes.

The night will be mainly dry with a possibility of a few light showers along northern and eastern coasts. It will be cold, however, with minimum temperatures -1 to +3 Celsius, with frost where breaks in cloud occur.

Tuesday

There will be little change in the weather on Tuesday, according to the national forecaster. They expect it will remain mostly dry with a chance of scattered showers in the northwest, north and east. Maximum temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees Celsius, in light to moderate north to northeast breezes.

Tuesday night will once again remain dry but cold, with lowest temperatures of between 1 and 4 degrees.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be mainly dry and mostly cloudy. The best of the sunshine will be in the east and south, while it will be cloudier in the west and north with occasional light showers. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with moderate northwest breezes.

Wednesday night is predicted to be mainly dry, however, rain will develop in the northwest overnight; lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees.

Thursday

The current forecast suggests Thursday will start off dry in the east and south but outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the west and north will gradually spread southeastwards as the day progresses. The amount of rain will be small, however, with highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh west to northwest winds.

Friday

Once again, outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread from the west on Friday, but only in small amounts. Met Éireann anticipates a milder day, with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees and moderate southwest breezes.

Saturday

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with rain spreading southeastwards over the country, possibly heavy for a time in the northwest, but lighter elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.
