Weather: Rain expected throughout weekend

There will be isolated heavy thunderstorms in Connacht and Ulster this morning, with dry conditions expected elsewhere, according to Met Éireann.

Outbreaks of rain will spread across Munster this afternoon, with some showers set to develop in other regions.

Showery rain will continue in most places tonight, some heavy and possibly thundery bursts, with lows of 11 to 13 degrees.

Saturday – Showers are expected once again, with longer spells of rain at times, some heavy bursts, especially in parts of the west and north, the national forecaster warned.

Temperatures will reach between 14 to 17 degrees during the day before dropping between 10 to 11 degrees tomorrow night.

Showers will be most frequent in the north and west of the country tomorrow night and will merge into longer spells of rain towards morning, according to Met Éireann.

Sunday – Again, it will be wet and dull in Connacht and Ulster, with drier, brighter conditions and scattered showers elsewhere; highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.

Outbreaks of rain will continue in the north and west overnight, while it will be mostly dry elsewhere.
