Weather: Mixed bag of showers, sunshine and dry conditions

It will start off dry in most areas today (Friday, September 4th) with showers in the west and north-west set to spread across the country, according to Met Éireann.

Showers will become widespread and heavy at times during the afternoon and evening with highs of 14 to 17 degrees.

Dry conditions in most parts of the country tonight, with showers becoming mostly confined to the west and north with lows of 7 to 11 degrees.

Saturday – Sunny spells and scattered showers are expected tomorrow morning.

It will be cloudier in the afternoon and evening with showers or longer spells of rain set to descend upon the northern half of the country at times.

The best of any bright or sunny spells will be in the south-east with highs of 13 to 17 degrees.

Showers will gradually clear eastwards tomorrow night, according to the national forecaster, who predicts that it will become mainly dry overnight with clear spells and lows of 9 to 11 degrees.

Sunday   It will be mainly dry and bright with sunny spells, although there will be showers in the west.

These showers will spread eastwards before becoming more widespread in the afternoon and dying out by nightfall, according to Met Éireann.  

Temperatures will reach 15 to 18 degrees with light to moderate westerly breezes.

It will be mainly dry on Sunday night; however, rain will develop in the west overnight.
