Weather: Rain, frost and low temperatures to return this week

Weather forecast from Met Éireann for week of April 26th, 2021: 

According to Met Éireann, any remaining mist patches will clear today (Monday, April 26th, 2021), leaving a mainly dry day with hazy sunshine.

It will become cloudier over Ulster, with light rain or drizzle to develop in the north towards evening. This will extend over Ulster and Connacht by nightfall with nationwide highs of 14 to 17 degrees.

Meanwhile, there will be some light rain and drizzle over the country’s northern half tonight.

Rain will move southwards, with showers to follow into the north-west and north overnight. Temperatures will drop between 3 to 8 degrees in light to moderate west to north-west breezes.

Tuesday, April 27th:

Meanwhile, it will be mainly dry in Munster and Leinster tomorrow, with scattered showers in the other two provinces, before extending nationwide.

Some showers will be heavy, of hail, possibly thundery with highs of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate north to north-west breezes.

Tuesday night will see showers continue in the eastern parts of Leinster and Munster. Meanwhile, it will be mainly dry elsewhere with some clear spell and lows of 2 to 6 degrees.

Wednesday, April 28th:

It will be cool on Wednesday with some sunny spells and scattered showers, mainly in Ulster, Leinster, and north Connacht.

According to the national forecaster, it will be a mainly dry in Munster with nationwide highs of 9 to 13 degrees.

It will be mainly dry on Wednesday night with some clear spells and showers near north and east coasts; temperatures will drop between 0 to 4 degrees in light, northerly breezes.

Thursday, April 29th:

It will be cool on Thursday with some sunshine and showers, hail and some thundery.

Temperatures will reach between 9 to 11 degrees in the day with nighttime lows of 0 to 4 degrees, frost in places, with cold and mainly dry conditions.

Friday, April 29th

Friday will also be cool, with sunny spells and scattered showers to follow a mainly dry start. According to Met Éireann, some showers will be heavy and of hail.

Temperatures will reach between 9 to 12 degrees with light variable or north-east breezes. However, temperatures will fall between -1 to +3 degrees on Friday night, with frost to develop.

Weather Met Éireann: Saturday and weekend

It will be sunny with some scattered showers and highs of 10 to 13 degrees on Saturday. Current indications from Met Éireann suggests that Sunday and early next week will be “milder and unsettled”.

The national forecaster predicts that “spells of rain or showers will spread eastwards across the country”.
