Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for four counties.

The alert, valid for Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and Wexford, came into effect at 5 am this morning (Tuesday, October 20th). It is due to expire at 3 pm this afternoon.

“Becoming very windy on Tuesday. Southeast winds, veering southwest will reach mean speeds of 50-65km/h, gusting up to 100km/h.” the national forecaster warned.

“Exceptionally high tides, combined with strong onshore winds, gives an elevated risk of coastal flooding.”
