Weather: Dry and sunny weekend in store

It will be cool and rather windy today (Friday, August 28th), according to Met Éireann.

Scattered showers are expected in the west with longer spells of rain in the east.

It will become brighter later this afternoon with some sunny spells set to develop; remaining showers will become isolated by this evening.

It will be mainly dry tonight with some isolated light showers and lows of 7 to 11 degrees.

Saturday – A mostly sunny start to the day, with cloudier conditions expected in the afternoon, according to the national forecaster.

It will be largely dry, with some isolated showers and highs of 13 to 16 degrees.

Skies will clear on Saturday night with minimum temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees; some grass frost is possible in Munster and south Leinster, according to Met Éireann.

Sunday – It will be largely dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells with occasional showers.

Temperatures will reach 14 to 16 degrees during the afternoon with lows of 7 to 11 degrees on Sunday night.

Cloud will thicken from the west overnight with light south-east breezes developing.
