Weather: Dry and sunny spells expected towards end of week

It will be dry in many areas today, with some sunny spells and passing showers, according to Met Éireann.

Temperatures will range from 14 to 19 degrees today, before dropping between 7 to 11 degrees tonight.

It will be dry at first tonight; however, cloud and rain will extend from the Atlantic. Some heavy falls are expected in Connacht, but it will be patchier in Munster and south Leinster.

Tuesday – Outbreaks of rain expected tomorrow, persistent, and heavy in places – especially in Connacht. It will be misty in places with some hill and coastal fog and highs of 12 to 17 degrees.

The national forecaster predicts that similar conditions will occur tomorrow night, with some outbreaks of rain and drizzle, drier in the west and north-west.

Some clear spells may develop in the north-west, while there will be mist and fog patches in places.

Minimum temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in Ulster and Connacht, with slightly higher values of 12 to 14 degrees in the other two provinces.

Wednesday – It will be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle – mainly in the south.

Some good dry intervals are expected in the northern half of the country, according to Met Éireann.

Some bright spells will develop, especially in the north and north-west, with highs of 15 to 19 degrees nationwide.

Thursday – Mainly dry conditions in store with some bright or sunny spells set to develop – especially in the northern half of the country.

It will be cloudier in the south, with some patchy light rain possible at first in southern coastal counties.

Friday – Again, it will be dry and sunny in most areas, however, the national forecaster has warned that some scattered showers are likely, mainly in Ulster.
