Weather: Any end in sight for rain?

It will be mostly cloudy today (Monday, July 13th), with patchy outbreaks of rain or drizzle, according to Met Éireann.

Rain will be persistent and locally heavy in southern coastal counties, with some fog patches.

Good dry intervals will develop in most areas with some bright spells and highs of 15 to 19 degrees.

The national forecaster has warned that there will be further outbreaks of showery rain – mainly in the northern half of the country.

It will be mainly dry tonight with variable cloud cover, with rain along west and north-west coasts and lows of 9 to 11 degrees.

Tuesday – It will be mostly cloudy tomorrow with outbreaks of rain set to extend from the west and north-west during the morning and afternoon.

Rain will be persistent over much of the northern half of Ireland, with some heavy bursts expected in the north-west.

Rain and drizzle will be patchy in the south and south-east, while south Munster will remain mostly dry.

Drier conditions will extend from the west into other areas later with maximum temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees, according to Met Éireann.

Temperatures will fall between 10 to 12 degrees tomorrow night.

It will be mild and mostly cloudy tomorrow night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle – especially in Ulster and Leinster.

Wednesday – It will be mild and mostly cloudy with “a fair amount of dry weather”, according to the Irish Meteorological Service.

There will be some patchy rain or drizzle – especially in Ulster and east Leinster – with some bright intervals in places.

Temperatures will peak between 15 to 20 degrees tomorrow afternoon with lows of 10 to 12 degrees tomorrow night.

Thursday – It will continue to be mild, humid, and mostly cloudy, with dry conditions in many areas.

The national forecaster has warned that there will be light patchy drizzle in places – mainly in western and northern parts of Connacht and Ulster.

It has said that the best of any bright or sunny intervals will be in Munster and east Leinster.

Temperatures will reach between 15 to 19 degrees over the western half of the country, peaking at 21 or 22 degrees in the east.

Friday – A dry start in Leinster and Munster, with rain and drizzle in the north-east set to spread across the country throughout the day.

It will become light and patchy, with parts of the east and south expected to remain dry.

Temperatures will range from 15 to 21 degrees – warmest in Leinster with light, south-west breezes.
