‘We have made the hard decision to offer our herd for sale as we are changing our farming practice’

The Royal County Limousin herd will be dispersed this Saturday (August 29th) at Elphin Mart at 2pm.

The herd was established in 2016 with the purchase of Thomastown Hayley, a Sympa Daughter that gave Tommy and Shane O’Loughlin some “very impressive” daughters.

“Six Hayley daughters sell at the sale with sires being Wilodge Cerberus, Loosebeare fantastic and Ronick Hawk,” they told That’s Farming.

They then purchased three females from the renowned Drummin herd, property of John McInerney. “These Drummin Cliona daughters have bred exceptionally well and are super cows.”

They also acquired two heifers from the Goldies herd in Scotland and again, they have “left a mark”. “I feel we have put together an amazing herd of cattle and they would be an addition to any herd.”
