Water pump more than 100-years-old stolen

Kells Gardaí are investigating the theft of a historic water pump from the Dromone area overnight.

It is understood that the item was taken from Knocklough Cross near Dromone, Oldcastle on Wednesday, August 12th.

‘A focal point in the village’

In a post on social media, a spokesperson for Meath Crime Prevention said: “It’s over-100-years-old and has been a focal point in the village.”

“The item is now green with a yellow lid. This is an old photo of the pump.”

“If there was anyone in the area during the night and saw any suspicious activity or can help to get the item back, please call the garda Station on 046-9240999.”
