Up to 40mm of rain on its way with spot flooding possible

The first is valid for Donegal, GalwaMet Éireann has issued two separate status yellow rainfall warnings, covering six counties.y and Mayo from 9am today (Tuesday, August 4th) until 1pm tomorrow (Wednesday, August 5th).

“Heavy rain with additional accumulations of 20 to 40mm expected. Spot flooding possible, with poor visibility and poor driving conditions.”

Meanwhile, a status yellow warning will come into effect in Clare, Cork, and Kerry at 3pm today and will remain in place until 12pm tomorrow.

“Heavy rain this evening, tonight and tomorrow morning will give accumulations of 20 to 40mm, with potentially higher amounts in mountainous areas.”

“As soils are saturated from recent rainfall, this additional rainfall will lead to spot flooding.” the national forecaster warned.
