The 2020 Tidy Farm Awards opened for entries on February 3rd and will close on March 23rd, 2020.
The competition, which was announced by National Farmers Union (NFU) Mutual, is open to farmers in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland with prizes up to £2,000 (over €2,200) available for each region.
The NFU said it knows that maintaining a well-kept farm can have a positive impact on safety. This competition recognises those that are as safe and practical as they can be and encourages others to follow their example. Judges will be assessing farms from eight photos.
Who can enter?
Anyone can nominate a farmer that they believe to be worthy of the award.
How to enter
Fill out the form, which can be found on the NFU Mutual website, and submit up to eight photos showing why yours is the ‘tidiest’ farm in your region. Winners will be recognised from different sectors and regions, and presentations will be made at agricultural shows this summer with up to £2,000 of prizes available for each region.
What are judges looking for?
The competition information states that judges will be looking at the design of your farm, its general tidiness and the approach you take to health and safety all contribute to making your farm as safe and as well run as it can be.
