Police are appealing for information following the alleged theft of a young calf from a farm in Staines-Upon-Thames in the UK.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 5pm on Tuesday, February 16th and 9am on Wednesday, February 17th.
Calf stolen from field
In a statement, a spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “Officers received a report of a calf stolen overnight between 5pm on Tuesday 16 February and 9am on Wednesday 17 February.”
“The calf was in a field with his mother and other cows. No other cows were taken.”
“The calf is a black Dexter breed of cattle. He was only two-days-old at the time of the theft. He will only be just over a week old now, and is still reliant on his mother.”

Tractor fire
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the UK, near Landkey, firefighters were called to the scene of a tractor fire last weekend.
Two crews from Barnstaple found the agricultural vehicle to be well alight when they arrived at the scene on Saturday afternoon (February 20th, 2021).
They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
Tractor catches fire in field
In a statement, on Saturday, February 20th, a spokesperson for Barnstaple Fire Service, said: “At 16:30 this afternoon, Barnstaple’s blue watch and the on-call were mobilised to a tractor fire in a field near Landkey.”
“On arrival, the incident commander got 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.”
“Barnstaples on-call appliance and crew supported Blue watch by supplying water and assisting in environmental protection.”
