Cull cows to €2,100 & heifers to €1,950 in ‘persistent’ trade in Tuam – Devane

A “persistent trade” prevailed at Tuam Mart on Monday, June 12th, 2023, according to Marion Devane.

The mart manager reported that cull cows pushed to €2,100, while bullocks made up to €1,880, and heifers peaked at €1,950 at its most recent weekly general cattle sale.

Bullock prices:

  • 300 kg SAX by a Clogher farmer made €950 (€3.17/kg);
  • 4 CHX 360 kg by a Westport farmer made €1200 (€3.33/kg);
  • 540 kg LMX by a Lisavalley farmer made €1490 (€2.76/kg);
  • A pair 607 kg CHX by a Cummer farmer made €1820 (€3.00/kg);
  • 665 kg CHX by a Cummer farmer made €1880 (€3.00/kg).

Cull cow prices:

  • A pair 765 kg SIX €1760 (€2.30/kg);
  • 660 kg CHX by a Hollymount farmer made €1650 (€2.50/kg);
  • 645 kg AAX by a Ballyhaunis farmer made €1610 (€2.50/kg);
  • 775 kg CHX by a Cumme farmer made €1990 (€2.57/kg);
  • 730 kg CHX by a Cummer farmer made €1730 (€2.37/kg);

Last week’s cattle prices

A “sizzling hot trade” prevailed at Tuam Mart’s bank holiday cattle sale on Monday, June 5th, 2023, according to Marion Devane.

The mart manager reported that cull cows maxed out at €2,460, while suckler pairs followed at €2,420, bullocks sold to €2,400, heifers topped at €2,160, and weanlings hit €1,260.
