Truck of the Week: ‘The lorry is 34-years-old’

A 34-year-old Scania, fitted with a Stenson cattle body, is Joe Parker’s pride and joy.

The Belcoo, Co. Fermanagh native, a self-employed beef and sheep farmer, purchased the vehicle from a fellow farmer in 2008, who owned it from when it was 2-years-old.

Speaking to Catherina Cunnane, editor of That’s Farming, Parker, said: “I grew up on a farm and this lorry is in everyday use for my own haulage as some of my farms are 80 miles apart.”
“The lorry is 34-years-old and was re-sprayed in 2018; no other modifications have been done.”

“I use the truck to haul my own livestock. It is working 100% and is very easy to maintain.” Joe concluded.
