Tributes pour in for ‘much-loved’ farmer

Tributes have poured out for a young farmer from county Antrim, who passed away suddenly at the weekend.

Ward Patterson, from Upper Ballinderry, Co. Antrim, was a former student at Greenmount Agricultural College and a member of Crumlin Young Farmers Club.

In a social media post, the Crumlin Young Farmers club has said:

“The members of Crumlin YFC are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of much-loved club member Ward Patterson. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.”

“In light of this we have cancelled our meeting tomorrow night, however the Memorial Hall on Crumlin Main Street will be open from 7 PM for people to sign a book of condolence, all are welcome to join us.”

The post was met with floods of comments, all in tribute of the sorely missed young farmer.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday – March 11- in Glenavy Methodist Church at 12.00 noon with burial afterwards to St. Aidan’s Parish Churchyard.
