A woman has died after being trampled by cattle in a field across the waters in Sussex in the UK.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at a farm in Billingshurst on Monday, August 22nd, 2022.
Sussex Police are not treating the death as suspicious and have issued an appeal for witnesses.
Trampled by cattle
In a statement to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for Sussex Police said:
“Emergency services responded to concerns for the welfare of a woman seen in a field in Rowner Road at about 11.40 am.”
“Sadly, the 55-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.”
“The woman had sustained her injuries after being trampled by cattle in the field. Officers are investigating and have appealed for any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.”
“Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or on 101 and quote serial 577 of 22/08,” the spokesperson concluded.
Burglary in Roscommon
Meanwhile, in other news, Independent TD, Michael Fitzmaurice, has spoken out following a “violent” burglary at a premises in Ballintober, Co. Roscommon in the early hours of Monday morning, August 22nd, 2022.
The incident occurred when a number of males entered the premises.
One man (aged in his 60s) sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident but did not require medical attention.
According to Gardaí, the suspected offenders fled the scene with a sum of cash.
Independent TD for Roscommon-Galway, Michael Fitzmaurice, reported that a woman in her 90s and her adult sons were held hostage and threatened while their business and home were ransacked.
He said it has been reported a 94-year-old woman and her sons were held hostage in one room while a gang of men ransacked the rest of the property.
