‘The most stressful week in my 31 years working in Raphoe Livestock Mart’

A mart manager has thanked and commended the farming community for their co-operation in adhering to the strict protocols which are in place in response to Covid-19.

Ann Harkin, manager of Raphoe Livestock Mart, took to social media last night (Thursday, March 19th) to acknowledge the efforts of staff and customers alike.

“I just have to write this message tonight after what has been the most stressful week in my 31 years working in Raphoe Livestock Mart.”

“I commend each and every one of you. I have never witnessed such respect and appreciation for our efforts which are in the interests of our staff, customers and the wider community.”

“I also wish to acknowledge my workforce who have been totally supportive and have done everything in their power to ensure the protocols were adhered to.”

“I, like everyone, have fears about this virus but tonight I can honestly say the farming community has excelled in a responsible manner while attending our sale and trust that this will continue as long as these measures remain in place.”
