A farmer used a telescopic handler to remove a car that reportedly had been left in front of a gateway on private land over the weekend.
The incident, involving the Kramer telescopic load and Vauxhall saloon car, occurred on Saturday, June 5th, 2021, near Barnard Castle, County Durham.
Footage of the incident has circulated across social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.
At the time of writing, a video posted by one user on Facebook has garnered 3.6 M videos and over 30,000 likes and more than 30,000 comments.
A man filming the incident on his mobile can be seen kicking the telehandler’s side and encouraging the farmer to remove the vehicle. The telescopic handler pushes the car before lifting it off the ground and flipping it onto its side at the farm entrance.
Police attended the scene of the incident at the UK-based farm.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said:
“We were alerted to reports of an incident at a farm in the Teesdale area shortly after 5.45 pm on June 5th.”
“Officers attended the scene, and an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.”
According to one tweeter: “A lot more to this story, he’s a friend of a colleague.”
“He’s been driven mad by these lot, starting fires, pushing walls over, just to name a few things. Not saying it’s right, but they pushed him to the end of his tether.”

Meanwhile, earlier this year, a farmer utilised gates to create a fence around a BMW, which blocked access to his farmyard in Wales.
Green Party county councillor, Emily Durrant, posted an image of the makeshift fence on Twitter.
In a tweet, she said: “It’s great to be welcoming everyone in Wales back to our corner of heaven. Please don’t be a plonker and park in front of farm gates.”
“It is a working landscape, not just a fun place to be. When farmers can’t tend to their livestock, it makes them a little upset. Fair enough.” the tweet added.
Furthermore, councillor Durrant urged the public to respect farm property.
She told Wales Online: “We are very welcoming of visitors; they are very important to our local economy, and they bring a lot to the area.”
“It’s an amusing picture, but the message behind it is a serious one. All we ask is for people to be considerate when travelling to rural areas and to be mindful of their surroundings.”
