Despite the continuous adverse weather conditions, cattle and sheep numbers were similar to previous weeks at Ballinrobe on Wednesday, February 26th, according to a spokesperson.
Heifers:
- Limousin-X – 600 kg – €1420 or €2.37/kg;
- A Charolais-X – 430 kg – €1060 or €2.47/kg;
- An Saler-cross – 355 kg – €900 or €2.54/kg;
- A Limousin-X – 315 kg – €840 or €2.67/kg.
Bullocks:
- An Aberdeen-Angus – 615 kg – €1440 or €2.34/kg;
- A Limousin-X – 590 kg – €1405 or €2.36/kg;
- A Charolais-X – 450 kg – €1160 or €2.58/kg.
Dry cows and suckler pairings:
- Dry cows: A Charolais-X – 760 kg – €1475 or €1.94/kg;
- Suckler pairs: A HEX cow with a Charolais bull calf at foot – €1490.
Weanlings:
- Heifers: A Charolais-X – 265 kg – €800 or €3.02/kg;
- Bulls: A Limousin-X – 355 kg – €850 or €2.54/kg.
Sheep:

“Sheep numbers were up slightly on the previous week in Ballinrobe with prices remaining similar to the previous weeks.” the spokesperson added.
Store lambs made from €78-€112, while factory lambs pushed from €115-€128.00 and ewes carrying couples peaked at €185.00.
Cull ewes went under the hammer from €75-€131.
