Speed Dating Charity Fundraiser in Cork
A fundraiser with a twist to raise much-needed funds for a charity that provides home from home accommodation for families of patients in Cork University Hospital will take place next month.
Killarney Avenue Hotel will play host to a speed dating night in aid of the Brú Columbanus charity in Co. Cork, on Friday, July 1st, 2022, at 10 pm.
Speed dating event
Speaking to That’s Farming editor, Catherina Cunnane, John Martin Carroll, who has organised the event, said:
“The night is aimed at those who are sick of using dating apps or those that are tired of trying to meet people in pubs and nightclubs. We want to give people a chance to meet someone in a new and different environment.”
“All money raised on the night – a €20 donation is all that we require – will go straight to Brú Columbanus. It is more about socialising than anything else really.”
“It is not about putting pressure on people. It is about doing something different, and I think change is good.”
“That is the way I look at it. If you keep doing the same thing over and over, you are going to go insane.”
“Therefore, this night will be a good opportunity for people – aged between 18 to 35-years-old – to mix things up,” he added.
If anyone would like to take part, please contact John on WhatsApp at 087-1233251.
Tips for singletons:
We previously interviewed Westmeath love guru, Mairead Loughman, who has sent over 5,000 singletons on dates through LoveHQ.ie.
She provided our readers with some tips when searching for love.
She advised of the following:
- Good conversation is key, whether that is online or the old-fashioned face-to-face dating. Talk about your interests, stray away from negativity and show interest in what the other person has to say. Try a search for common ground and use that as a basis for conversing.
- Lead the way when it comes to dating. If you really like someone that you’re talking to, then don’t be afraid to ask them out on a date. Taking the lead when it comes to dating can be an attractive trait, it displays some confidence.
- Dress to impress! Whether you’re going on a date or taking those Tinder photos, always try to present the best of yourself. Looks are not the point, it’s about showing a level care and effort, and if you look your best, you’ll tend to feel your best.
- Don’t give away too much information from the get-go. Start off simple, work your way to getting to know someone, and be smart with your conversation.
