Solid trade for cattle at Loughrea

Demand was strongest for forward-type store cattle at Loughrea Mart’s most recent sale, according to a spokesperson.

They explained that trade was solid for quality entries.

Bullocks:

  • 1 LMX – 380kg – €830;
  • 1 CHX – 415kg – €975;
  • 1 CHX – 435kg – €1,030;
  • 1 LMX – 520kg – €1,135;
  • 1 CHX – 550kg – €1,230;
  • 1 BAX – 607kg – €1,340;
  • 1 CHX – 608kg – €1,315.

Heifers:

  • 1 LMX – 395kg – €870;
  • 1 LMX – 425kg – €965;
  • 1 HEX – 520kg – €920;
  • 1 CHX – 530kg – €1,060;
  • 1 CHX – 560kg – €1,155;
  • 1 SIX- 600kg – €1,075.

Cull cows:

  • 1 LMX – 670kg – €1,150;
  • 1 AAX – 685kg – €890;
  • 1 SIX – 755kg – €1,075;
  • 1 LMX – 815kg – €1,255;
  • 1 CHX – 830kg – €1,310.

Bull weanlings:

  • 1 LMX – 335kg – €750;
  • 1 LMX – 345kg – €755;
  • 1 LMX – 350kg – €765.

Sheep

“Factories have pulled the price of lambs and this has hit mart prices.” the spokesperson said.

Lambs:

  • 42kgs – €100;
  • 43.5kg – €102;
  • 46kg – €110;
  • 48kg – €110;
  • 49kg – €113;
  • 56kg – €115.

Other categories:

  • Cull ewes – €55-€108.
