Roscommon Mart – weanling prices – 12-10-2021

According to Maura Quigley, Roscommon Mart’s show and sale of weanlings on Tuesday, October 12^th, 2021, attracted a “very large entry of excellent quality stock”.

The mart manager reported that trade was “brisk from start to finish with customers anxious for stock both online and at ringside”.

She outlined that weanling bulls averaged €2.77-€4.06/kg, while weanling heifers ranged from €2.74-€5.29/kg.

Sheep prices

Quigley reported that there was a “larger” entry on offer at the mart’s sheep sale on Wednesday, October 13^th.

The mart manager reported that prices were similar to the previous week’s levels. “There was a good selection of Ewe Lambs presented for sale with plenty of Customers sourcing them. The tops of ewe lambs fetched up €146 for 45.2 kgs.”

Summary:

• Finished lambs topped out at €143;
• Store lambs climbed to €118;
• Stag ewes realised €142.
