Prices ‘up slightly’ on last week’s levels at Ballinasloe

Bullocks went under the hammer from €2.16-€2.60/kg, while heifers ranged from €2.19-€2.72/kg and cows sold from €620-€1,490 at Ballinasloe Mart on Wednesday, July 7th, according to a spokesperson. 

Speaking following the general cattle sale, a spokesperson said: “A good trade at our cattle sale with prices up slightly on last week.” 

Bullocks:

  • 1 CH – 655kg – €1,500 – €2.29/kg;
  • 1 CH – 630kg – €1,450 – €2.30/kg; 
  • 1 LM – 643kg – €1,430 – €2.22/kg; 
  • 1 CH – 365kg – €950 – €2.60/kg; 
  • 1 CH – 550kg – €1,300 – €2.64/kg;
  • 1 CH – 290kg – €680 – €2.34/kg.

Heifers:

  • 1 CH – 740kg – €1,680 – €2.27/kg;
  • 1 LM – 665kg – €1,550 – €2.33/kg;
  • 1 CH – 640kg – €1,450 – €2.27/kg;
  • 1 LM – 475kg – €1,290 – €2.72/kg;
  • 1 LM – 465kg – €1,160 – €2.50/kg;
  • 1 LM – 480kg – €1,190 – €2.48/kg. 

Averages:

  • Bullocks – €1,155 or €2.16/kg; 
  • Heifers – €1,092 or €2.18/kg;
  • Cull cows – €1,190.
