‘Strong’ trade for all classes in Roscommon

According to a spokesperson for Roscommon Mart, there was a “good” entry of stock on offer at last Friday’s special heifer sale with a “strong” trade for all classes.

Heifers sold from an average of €2.70 per kilo up to €3.34 per kilo, while there was a smaller entry of dry cows and they sold from an average of €2.20 per kilo up to €2.58 per kilo and bullocks stood from an average of €2.70 per kilo up to €3.34 per kilo.

The spokesperson noted that there was “a good attendance of customers at the ringside with online bidders also active”.

Dry cow prices:

• LMX – 835 Kg – €2,080;
• LMX – 670 Kg – €1,730;
• LMX – 785 Kg – €1,950;
• LMX – 735 Kg – €1,890;
• SIX – 655 Kg – €1,300;
• AA – 715 Kg – €1,520;
• AAX – 680 Kg – €1,500;
• HEX – 690 Kg – €1,450;
