Pistyll Kingsman 19 set a new Welsh record for a Simmental sold in the UK when he went under the hammer for 26,000gns, respectively, on Saturday (February 27th).

The June-2019-born entry, property of Messrs GA & HM Francis, Pistyll Uchaf, Abergorlech, Carmarthen, led a strong demand for Simmental bulls at United Auction’s Livestock Centre, Stirling.

According to the British Simmental Cattle Society, Pistyll Kingsman 19 changed hands for the second top price for a Simmental bull sold at auction in the UK,

Described as “long and stylish”, he is by Woodhall Ferrari 14, who has bred bulls to 14,000gns at Stirling, and is out of Woodhall Evangeline.

Summary

The sale, held under the ongoing and unusual Covid circumstances, saw a strong demand led by commercial producers looking for “first quality” Simmental bulls.
