There was another big entry of sheep on offer at Dowra Mart’s sheep sale on Friday (May 22nd) with some 740 entries being auctioned, according to a mart spokesperson.
They reported that trade was slightly back on the previous week, with spring lambs making from €116 up to a top call of €134.50, while a few pens of light store spring lambs climbed to €90-€112.
In a big entry of heavy cull ewes, prices reached up to €130.50 for 8 ewes weighing 93kg, while store ewes made between €50 and €80.
Factory hoggets topped out at €125 – a price that was paid for a pen of 8 weighing 43kg, while ewes with lambs at foot ranged between €120 and €230.
