PHOTOS: Win this pedigree Charolais in-calf cow and bull calf

You could win this pedigree Charolais in-calf cow, along with her 2-month-old bull calf, for €25.

The export-tested suckler pairing is up for grabs as part of DC Farm Competitions’ latest draw.

Speaking to That’s Farming, Daniel Conway, the founder of the agricultural-orientated competitions website, said: “If you know your breeding, you know not to miss out on this super outfit.”

“The cow is by T-urambo XScardaune Ursuia – a very rare, proven bloodline. Her dam was imported from France and was off Loreto X Bruyere.”

“The cow, which is one of the best in the country, has a 2-month-old pedigree bull calf at foot and is she is served again to Roughan Nigel2, who is off Gibraltar X Dix de Coe.”

“The photos say it all – she has a superb head and bone with striking depth and length – you won’t get one like her.” the Mayo native added.

A total of 325 tickets are available to purchase for this draw and entrants be must be aged 18 or over.

How does it work?

The new online platform, which holds weekly competitions, has stemmed from Daniel Conway’s life-long passion for breeding high-end cattle.

The new agricultural-orientated competitions website allows farmers to be in with the chance of winning quality cattle by paying a small entry fee which is a fraction of their value.

Users are required to log onto – www.dcfarmcompetitions.com – where they select a competition of their choice.

They then click ‘enter’ to purchase a ticket and are required to answer a question to qualify and complete payment. They are then entered into the draw in question and receive email confirmation with a ticket number.

The winner of each competition is selected using a random number generator and announced during a Facebook livestream. The competition provider will contact winners and organise transfer and collection arrangements.

To date, six breeding and in-calve commercial and pedigree heifers, along with bale wrap, have been won by farmers from across the island of Ireland.

“We have received a remarkable response to date, with tickets selling out in days. We have a number of free-to-enter social media competitions, which can be entered on our Facebook page.” concluded the owner of the Scardaune Charolais herd.
