PHOTOS: Trailer ‘loaded with €10,000 worth of cattle’ held at RSA checkpoint

The driver of a tractor-trailer combination received a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice after being stopped by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) in Co. Waterford earlier this week.

The RSA examined the tractor-trailer combination detected multiple road traffic-related offences during a roadside checkpoint.

Offences 

A spokesperson for the RSA said: “3 tyres dangerous defective, 1st axle brake pipe leaking, rear lights faulty, lens missing, wheel guards corroded.”

“Loaded with €10,000 worth of cattle going to factory. Held at checkpoint until tyres were replaced. Unable to seize vehicle due to animals, unsafe to unload.”

“Escorted to factory when tyres replaced. FCPN issued to driver.” the spokesperson concluded.
