Online ag show platform developed

A company has created an online platform in response to the cancellation and postponement of numerous agricultural shows on the back of the Covid-19 crisis.

At the start of the UK Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, MA Systems Ltd, the makers of Cloud-Lines, an online pedigree breeding database tool, teamed up with a number of volunteers.

“The hope was that the many dedicated, and often isolated, rural communities would have some sort of substitute to the traditional summer show season.” a company spokesperson told That’s Farming.

“Preparations for the summer showing season often begin straight after the last showing season, so many people will have been working hard to get themselves and their animals ready for this summer.”

Multi-show video and image platform

Two weeks after the initial idea, https://cloud-lines-shows.com/ was born and is now being offered, free-of-charge, to any livestock societies who wish to run a virtual video or photo-based livestock show during the current pandemic.

“Cloud-Lines-Shows is a multi-show, video and image platform, which can host all kinds of virtual shows.”

The company has partnered with the Greatest Online Ag Show, to run their livestock ‘tents’ during their May 2nd show and is planning to run many breed and species-specific shows throughout the summer.

Sarah Pumfrett – one of the idea originators – is running a charity fundraising show on the platform in May. “We’ve also been approached by classic-car enthusiast, who’s shows we also hope to host very soon.” the spokesperson concluded.
