VIDEO: €480,000 for 24-acre non-residential Westmeath farm

A circa 24.75-acre non-residential farm sold for €480,000 when it went under the hammer at an online auction on Thursday, June 24th, 2021.

Murtagh Bros set an advised minimum value (AMV) price of €300,000 on the property in Lynn, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

Ahead of the auction with LSL Auctions, the selling agent described this as an “excellent parcel of pasture land with its mature timber and parkland setting”.

The property is minutes from Mullingar Town & Lough Ennell. “This would make a wonderful setting for a residence subject to planning approval,” they remarked.

“The lands are all under grass of excellent quality, in one neat, tidy division and with over c.250 m of road frontage to the L1137.”

“A beautiful piece of property; a fabulous location. It really speaks for itself. The finest property you are going to see this year.” the selling agent declared before opening bidding.

The auction began with an opening bid of €200,000 before increasing steadily in €20,000 increments. The auctioneer declared the property on the market at €460,000 following instructions from the vendors. Finally, the hammer fell at €480,000 or €18,585/acre.

Guiding at €950,000 is a “superb” circa 106-acre residential farm for sale in Grehanstown, Killucan, Co Westmeath.

James L Murtagh will offer the property for sale by public auction at 4 pm on 9th July, 2021.

According to the selling agent, this “exceptionally well-located farm is of the highest quality with highly productive, free-draining lands”.

The farm is laid out in large, neat divisions with “excellent” road frontage to all lots and partly bounded by the Royal Canal.
