Men arrested and animals put down after farm searched

Two males have been arrested as part of an investigation on a farm in Cheshire in the UK.

Four animals were euthanized by vets, while two others were removed from the farm after a warrant was executed on March 4th.

Seven vehicles, one quad bike, one trailer and some power tools were seized, as part of the joint operation between Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team and the local CID.

In a statement on the matter, Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team, said: “We were joined by Staffordshire Moorlands Police too who came along to the address. Another great example of police forces working together to tackle shared criminality.”

“Following our arrival, we requested the assistance of out partner agencies, the RSPCA, the Environment Agency, World Horse Welfare and DEFRA due to the conditions at the farm.”

“The initial investigation and recovery has taken all day and when all the evidence was seized, we still needed to wash down all the vehicles and kit to help with biosecurity.”
